I was wondering how you spent 16 hours a day wearing the black contacts for Star Trek? I'm at the Comic Con seeing Gates and Michelle, as well as representing Betazed as the daughter of the 6th House of Betazed, holder of the sacred tabernacle of Riix, heir to the holy jewels of Betazed, wearing the black contacts from a company in the U.K called Crazy Lenses, that cost $15/pair (they sell in dollars and pounds, so they're cheap Cos play contacts) which seem to fold and move, or at least feel like it, causing me to wonder how you did it. I have a photo op with them tomorrow and I hope to wear them again after wearing them for 8 hours today and wondering if Star Trek's budget was able to give you and Majel better black contacts (Brent Spiner also had contacts too) or if you just got use to it? Is there some secret you could let me in on about wearing them for long periods of time? (not that you'll necessarily see this in time, but maybe for a future convention I could use the advice on the black contacts)
I think my son is right, I am Lwaxana, because I think everyone who came to see them, as well as Todd, also know I'm representing Betazed. What can I say? It's in my blood, but both Gates and Michelle said they love my spiel for the 6th House. :D That and I'm the only Betazoid here, I think, but I don't think I'm 1/2 as annoying. lol I'll share pics with them when I get home to my computer in the other section of the forum, if you want to see. Told some here I would also be thinking of you, as well as the late Majel, and I was. :) My other option would be to see if my opthamologist could give me Rx black distance contacts and I could have reading glasses (two sets of glasses progressives and readers) for when I want to be a Betazoid. Seems more costly though for having Betazoid eyes at conventions.
Mmm don't know where my previous comment went!
You just get use to them , I've been wearing prescription contacts since I was 17. The first days your eyes will be teary the whole time but once that's over, everything will be ok... I know, quite encouraging!
As you'll be wearing them occasionally, you'll never get used to them, on the days before and during the conventions, keep your eyes well hydrated by using proper eyedrops. I use Systane and love it. Be very careful while claening them before/after wearing them (also clean the case). And most importantly, put them AFTER make-up.
They're really easy to use, at least for me, but when it's windy or there's dust, it can feel like needles in your eye, use this physiological saline solutions (they sell them in unidose) to clean the eye. I always have one with me because this happens always at the worst possible moment.
Have fun with your Betazoid eyes!!
