🎶I don’t want a lot for Christmas (channeling Mariah Carey here) 🤣
Just for fun: what competely irrational, other-worldly things are on your Christmas list? I have to write a ridiculous list for myself every year because Christmas gives me performance anxiety (blame my older child for that), and the pressure to be perfect is a lot on some of us. So, what's on your list? Here is mine:
Endless frequent flyer miles. Because I have more countries to grace with my presence in 2024.
New grandparents. I haven't been spoiled correctly since mine died and frankly I'm sick of being an adult. Blame my grandfather because he did everything for me except tell me NO.
An Expedia gift card with an endless balance. Because see #1, that's why.
A husband who is as wealthy as he is generous. I had to scrap my last one at the junkyard and it seems like the husband factory is experiencing a delay in producing this model.
A house in another country my children don't know about. Because every time I leave the country, they threaten to call Interpol. Can't I trapise the world in peace for once?
Marina Sirtis to adopt me. Sure I have parents. I did a wonderful job raising them. I'd like to retire now. Marina just won't give in, though. I think I'm perfect for adoption: I own my own real estate, my own businesses, and I will never require her to change my diaper. Somebody convince her please 😂🤣
So, what about you guys? And no, you can't want Marina to adopt you 😤. I want to be an only child for once 🤣
Ok maybe @Jazzy but not the rest of you 😝. Maybe Gates McFadden can adopt the rest of you and we can be cousins 😁
I was looking for something like this. I'd like to suggest that you keep sharing information like this age of war
Someday at Christmas men won't be boys,
Playing with bombs like kids play with toys,
One warm December our hearts will see,
A world where men are free.
Someday at Christmas there'll be no wars,
When we have learned what Christmas is for,
When we have found what life's really worth,
There'll be peace on Earth.
Someday all our dreams will come to be,
Someday in a world where men are free,
Maybe not in time for you and me,
But someday at Christmas time.
Someday at Christmas we'll see a land
With no hungry children, no empty hand
One happy morning people will share
Our world where people care
Someday at Christmas there'll be no tears
When all men are equal and no man has fears
One shinning moment one prayer away
From our world today
Someday all our dreams will come to be
Someday in a world where men are free
Maybe not in time for you and me
But someday at Christmastime
Someday at Christmas man will not fail
Hate will be gone and love will prevail
Someday a new world that we can start
With hope in every heart
Someday all our dreams will come to be
Someday in a world where men are free
Maybe not in time for you and me
But someday at Christmastime
This is my favorite Christmas song. And I weep sometimes because when it says "maybe not in time for you and me," I'm certain of that. And this song was written in the 1960's. Generations have passed and we still can't achieve the most basic things--peace and prosperity for all.
It's not like we weren't in trouble a month early—the doctor who delivered my last son told me that I wanted at least one daughter and that I couldn't have any more without dying.

That's fine, too, (and probably a world record, for your younger than me though not by much) as long as we're one happy family 😇
My husband's a great cook, and loving it, so it's usually upon me to restore the kitchen to looking pretty again. I don't get to fix a whole lot myself but what I make is great.
The only way I want Marina to adopt me is as a sister. I have no sisters (or brothers), except those I adopt as sisters. I'm an only child and an only grandchild on my mother's side, so I was spoiled, I won't deny it. I don't want her adopt me as her kid. We're just far enough apart that I'd be her baby sister and I could deal with being a baby sister. It could be better than being an only child. :)
I also want a Star Trek (Next Generation, please) world, but I can't see that happening any time soon. However, if it could happen, it would be nice and being a Betazoid would be great.
Now, something more realistic and down to Earth... short of getting rid of all guns, which would be nice because in the modern world there is very little reason for them, is to have sensible gun laws, with almost no one dying from gun violence ever again. Some call a guns a tool, but if guns are a tool that tool only does one thing and one thing only, which makes it unnecessary. A knife does more things than a gun and most of those things don't involve ending life. The same goes for a hammer.
Health care for everyone or I should clarify, health care that isn't out of reach for many people cost wise, because health care, which includes abortion, is a human right, not a privilage. People with illness like diabetis can afford their medicines. Again, this may related back to a Star Trek world though.
Clean water, without lead in the pipes, as well as healthy food for everyone. And because water is life, stop building pipelines for oil and stop fracking.
Clean air, slow, maybe even stop climate change. End drug abuse (my younger son has problems), which goes back to health care, of course. Education for everyone, without student debt or denying women/girls (other countries) an education. Housing for everyone. A totally different economy where the rich don't take 90% (most) of it (no Elon Musk, Bill Gates, or that Apple dude) and leave the rest of us to fight for money.... oh wait... I guess I'm dreaming of a Star Trek world again. I was born in the wrong era.
I wish for world peace, but we, as a species are too primitive to make it happen, which means we are too primitive for first contact by any species capable of making it this far from their planet, if they even have the capability.
Some of the things that I would like aren't realistic. 1 is World Peace (like that would ever happen. 2 end of hunger/poverty. 3 that everyone got along no matter your physical appearence (etc.) 4 lots of gift cards (in particularlly amazon gift cards.) 5 the whole dvd set of all 7 seasons of tng. 6 dvd of all 3 seasons of picard. 7 a job that has a ton of beneficts not just basic health care coverage which u get in the states after working for 9 months. 8 to win the lottery a billion times. 10 to get better aquanted to people who have a fantastic social life (go to the grammys etc.). 11to have the relationship that I've always wanted to have with my nephews and niece (they live in Minisotta which is pretty far a way from Florida.). 12 to be married with someone with tons of money/connections. 13 to have a baby.
That's such a hard question. The thing is, I enjoy making gifts for people but I'm not big on receiving gifts (materialistic). I tell people to donate to their favorite charity (in my name if you want) and give me the receipt as a gift.
I'm still waiting on that horse I asked for when I was 6. 🦄
I would like simple gifts:
World Peace
To win the lottery
All the best for my friends and family in 2024
Nope, you absolutely don't get to be an only child, stop being so selfish. Marina's perfectly able to handle three of us😜😘😇
