What’s the best piece if advice someone has given you and, if you feel comfortable sharing, who gave it to you?
Mine is from my mom. She said that when you’re worried about something, ask yourself if there’s anything that can be done about it. If so, do it. Id not, than there’s no sense worrying since nothing can be done and worrying wont change anything.
My mom told me: if you don’t respect yourself, other people will not. I still struggle with self respect, but I try to not forget about my own needs and taking care of myself.
Just because today is bad doesn’t mean tomorrow won’t be the best day of your life. You just have to get there.
I‘ve lived through some times in life that required me to keep going when I wanted to quit. This statement is something I have repeated to myself when times were the worst.
The best advice, honestly, I've ever gotten was from Marina. "Don't worry in advance."
One tends to regret the things one didn't do more than those you did.
And concerning my children: Love them most when they deserve it least, because that's when they need it the most.
And: This too, shall pass. That was from my American Mom
best advice? Probably "trust your gut"
This was advice I got to a question I had about feeling nervous about going off to college.
if you’re nervous about something think about why you’re nervous. Are you nervous about something you want to do or something that you don’t want to do? if it’s something you want to do then go for it and don’t let a temporary feeling interfere with your decision. if it’s something you don’t want to do then consider taking a step back.
