Yesterday, my friend referred to us as “gray divorcees” 😳😵💫😂 so I told her I would make good use of my newly-minted status as an elderly bachelorette 🤣 and try to impart wisdom from time to time 😊. Here’s that group of wise thoughts I figured I’d share with the group:
Every person on the planet has challenges. Every person on the planet has choices as far as those challenges are concerned. So will you choose to let your challenges be your mark of defeat, or the catalyst to your victory? Every day, we see stories of people missing limbs, senses, and pivotal parts of life and still turn their life into a story of success. What makes you different?
Perception. Because perception is everything.
You may not understand this right now, but every single day you wake up and give it your best shot is another day in the win column for you. We all get down, but in order to survive, we have to be committed to not staying there.
Don’t quit, my friends. 😘
Very well said and very true, Mimi. It's hard sometimes, though. Especially with self-depricating thoughts: "Everyone hates you", "You'll never be accepted or be good enough", "You screw everything up because you're selfish and stupid", etc. I mean, I can certainly challenge those thoughts and tell them to f*** off, but it gets exhausting after while especially when they keep coming back and others reinforce them. But I am trying to keep my head above water. Thank you for your kindness Mimi.
Very well stated.
