Hello all. First time poster here - from sunny Sarf London!
Came here to basically post that it was a nice touch to include a moment between Marina and Gates on screen in the last episode of Picard. That relationship was not acknowledged nearly enough during the seven seasons of TNG, let alone in the films. It's a shame that a friendship between two female protagonists was something that the Trek writers (great as they were) in the 90s had trouble depicting on screen.
Wouldn't it be great to see further interaction in any potential legacy spin off series? Sci-Fi doesn't always have to be about the action. You can write deeply personal, intelligent and thought provoking material in the context of the genre too.
I totally agree with you. Scenes like this in (t.v shows at least) is rare to see. It’ll be so cool if they did that legacy spin off show. Especially showing more of what the character of Troi is capable of doing. There is so
much material that they can use to improve on the character of Troi. Or, at least give Marina better lines than she had on tng and the 🎥
I love Troi/Crusher scenes too. It’s obvious that Marina and Gates work well together.
