Since a lot of us have been posting pictures of things we made, I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread so we can have it all in one spot. Post your favorite recipes or a picture of a dish you made here. I’ll start. This is a Mediterranean Chickpea salad wrap that I made. Super quick and easy, but absolutely delicious! If anyone wants the recipe, let me know.

I got this from one of the Frugal Gourmet's books. Doesn't it sound delicious? I always wanted to make it. I wonder if a local bakery would carry it. Or is there someplace online that would? Amazon perhaps?
The Amish serve it after funerals. But I think it would be good
for any occasion. Anyone ever hear of it or try it?
Made this tonight for dinner for my mom and myself. It’s Croque Madame with a side mixed greens salad. Very messy, but very delicious. Big thanks to my mom for letting me use her kitchen.
When my father and I took a historic tour of the east coast in 1998, we went to a fancy restaurant in Virginia that served us this soup. Mine always had lumps in it. But you know, their
s did too.
This recipe for Corn Bread is the best I have ever encountered. If you find a better one, share it.
I don’t remember if I posted this already on here, so apologies if I did. Do any of you know how to make Spanakopita? If so, can you share the recipe with me? I want to try making it but can’t find a reliable one online (they all have different instructions). Thanks in advance.
Ooh, and homemade sherbet. It can be made very easily. Simply freeze fresh fresh fruit (always fresh) and purée. I never tried it, but it does sound good.
You know a couple of doctors told me you can eat even fruit in excess. Some people think they can just eat all they want (that's funny).
Also, bananas I don't know. When I was a kid, my mother got this recipe for banana popsicles. But we found you have to seal the bananas in a ziploc, or they just won't freeze. I have no idea why (and it's been a while—I haven't tried freezing bananas in a long time). BTW anyone ever try freezing fruit juices? We used to that when I was a kid too. Ocean Spray made a cranberry juice cocktail. And I'd love that freezed, in a dixie cup.
Made this for dinner tonight.
It’s glazed salmon with couscous and veggies (tomatoes and zucchini)
Here, it is an old traditional dish, the pumpkin. When it is removed from its tendrils, it is kept in the open air until the first day below freezing point. This starts the sugaring process in the pumpkin, and then it is stored in a cool, frost-free place. During preparation, cut it, then remove the seed and bake it in the oven. You can sweeten it with sugar.
Christ Eve dinner. I made Saganaki over couscous for my mom and I. What do you think?
I’m cheating here I know but Nigella’s gingerbread is amazing and easy to make ( vegan too). Google it. You won’t regret it! 😋
Yummy
My mom used to make this for me as a kid. It’s my go to comfort food. It’s called Stracciatella alla Romana soup which is a chicken-lemon egg drop soup. Here’s the recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1 quart (950 mL) homemade chicken stock (will add a recipe for that in the comments to this)
- Salt (I like Himalayan pink salt)
- 4 large eggs
- 3 ounces (85 grams) freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
- Freshly grated nutmeg to taste
- Lemon juice to taste (preferably from a freshly squeezed lemon)
- parsley, finely minced (to taste)
Directions:
In a medium sauce pan, heat chicken stock over medium high heat with a pinch of salt. Once boiling, reduce to low heat.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and cheese until thoroughly mixed.
Turn heat for saucepan up to medium-low heat. Slowly pour egg mixture into soup while whisking until completely uniform. Then return to low heat. Add another pinch of salt (optional).
Remove pan from heat. Season with nutmeg, lemon juice, cheese and parsley to taste.
This makes 4 servings and takes approximately 15 minutes to make. It’s great for a cold rain/snowy day or as a holiday side dish. Let me know if you end up making this.
Yeah, I'll give you two for the price of one. Now some people say when you make the Lightning Cake it didn't come out right. That's because you didn't sift it together four times. That step is important.
And what the heck, for Yuletide, I'll include Fig Pudding. You know I told the people on Martha Stewart's website that I didn't bother to steam it. And they all had a heart attack. That's an important step too. But it does take much longer, though.
Enjoy:
I made two trays of Jammies from scratch tonight. Getting holiday ready (desserts are my favorite things to make 😆).
