"Roaming through the night to find My place in this world." —Place in This World/Michael W. Smith (1991) [I really enjoyed this song when it first came out in 1991, and it seemed so poignant. Plus I think I was more religious back then too.]

It’s strangely satisfying to find lyrics that you can relate to on such an ethereal level. For me it these lyrics:
”Are you satisfied with an average life? Do I need to lie to make my way in life? Are you satisfied with an easy ride? Once you cross the line, will you be satisfied?”
I find that I ask myself this sort of thing a lot, especially over the last year or so. Is average good enough? Is it okay to settle for less or even settle at all? Or should I keep striving for something that is probably unattainable? If I’m offered a cheat-code of some sort in life that guarantees I will achieve my goal, should I take it? Or should I not and chance failing? It’s a good thought experiment and something I haven’t found a solid answer to yet.
