Ok, so I realize that Mother's Day isn't a groovy day for all. In many cases, for varied reasons, it's downright traumatic. I would, however, like to bring some happy from our Trek mommas, so please bear w me. The 1st is, of course, Majel Barrett Roddenberry, the Mother of Trek. She portrayed Lwaxana Troi so wonderfully; first in TNG & later in DS9, her character growth & evolution evident as time went on. The only thing that didn't change was her fierce love for her children.

That Deanna Troi had me thinking that labor & delivery were easy 🤣😂. Then I tried it. Zero stars...not recommended AT ALL! Esp without modern medicine. That was the killer part 😫.
Dark Page is one of my favorite episodes and one where I wept and wept. But if Lwaxana Troi never taught me anything, she taught me that I can’t heal from the things I hide. And that was a VERY important lesson not just as a person, but as a licensed professional counselor. I’ve told my young people this very thing many times. You have to let it go to heal, or it will cause you harm. Long live Lwaxana!
This is what my son made for me, can you guess who it is?🥰
Have a blessed lovely day everyone💗
The 1st child, Deanna Troi, brought into the universe may have been unplanned, unexpected and the situation a bit frightening; but he was loved by his mother anyway. She named him after her father, Ian Andra. It devastated her, I'm sure, as it does any mother, when he died. A couple of decades later, after marrying her Imzadi, Riker, she gave birth to their son Thad, who tragically passed at a young age, again ripping his mother apart from the soul out. And then we habe her "Wild Girl of the Woods, her daughter, Kestra. Their relationship is a bit like Deanna's was w her own mother and yet very different. @Marina portrayed motherhood very well.
