What was the first book you read that was not in your own language?Dark Sublime was my first (thank you Malinda Hill and Sara Secco) and although I had some difficulties due to my language skills, I managed.(The second book was a Star Trek novel called "Kobayashi Maru.")

Les Miserables. I have to be honest, I skipped the chapter on the Paris sewers.
A book not in my own language??? Does my Latin book in high school count ? 😂
I think I tried with Harry Potter in English ;)
I love Dark Sublime😍. I don't remember my first foreign book, that was way back in school, but I do remember reading Imzadi for the first time when I was about 14 years old. I've reread it countless times and each time I knew more Englisch😊
Does Beowulf count? I read that for grade 12 honors English. It was in Old English, which technically isn’t a different language, but is more similar to German than modern day English. Other than that, I’ve watched story videos in American Sign Language. My goal is to read ‘The Iliad‘ in its original form someday.
