ASL name signs

Um... I italicize what is sent telepathcally already. That could get confusing. Gloss would be good for the sign since I italize for the telepathy, which means I need to edit the sign parts. Thanks. Some maybe more difficult than others, since I don't put all signed conversations in ASL syntax. Depends on whether her terp (assistant) is there and/or she's more or less forced to read lips or if one is talking and signing, but certain places I use ASL syntax when signing, especially if it's not being voiced at the same time. If her assistant is there, I make note she's interpreting and let the non-signers talk, like normal conversations between hearing and deaf with a terp there.

Still haven't seen the video, but I read the transcript and.... Hey! That's the signed name I gave De too! Two minds think alike! :D I was wondering what sign name you gave her. It's PERFECT! Not just because I thought of it too, but it's Deanna. :D

BTW, I posted my Imzadi Bonding Series (Rated M for violence (violent to me at least, the worst I would ever write), character death, consentual sex for the first two books, but the third book is rated M for consentual sex, last chapter) In the second book, and third book (a little in first book, but not much) I try to describe ASL signs, once or twice put it in ASL syntax even. That's hard, but that said, I need someone who knows ASL (or ESE is fine too, for those who aren't well versed in ASL, but the syntax won't carry over well) to let me know if the description communicates the sign(s) well, especially in Chakotay's apology in the third book, seventh chapter. I probably should have included deaf communication a little more in the second book, including and especially concerning my character's issues with De and Chakotay, a little more than I did, but if you chose to read it, after knowing the rating and reasons for the rating, please give me feedback, especially on those things (any one who has knowledge of deafness and Sign may comment on it, not just Val).

That's also really cool that we picked out the same sign name for Deanna. I guess that's her official sign name now, provided Marina is okay with it.

I certainly hope so. I've spent all this time (years using) that for Deanna. If it's not ok with Marina, then I'm going to have to fix stories and stuff with my character. lol
